During the Great Depression, a young man leaves his Eastern home for his late mother's birthplace in the Utah hills.
He finds that things are far from peaceful on the frontier, thanks to a feud between rival ranchers and a deadly mountain lion on the prowl.

Some of the worst that humanity has to offer, all in the middle of the beautiful pine woods of Utah, in gloriously faded, blurry, and pixelated Technicolor. From what I've read of Natalie Kalmus, I'll bet she really helped to get the cast in the mood for this performance. Between the daily grind of the news media and "entertainment" like this, it's enough to turn a person positively misanthropic. Blech…

Well worth a viewing
This is a neat little modern day western surprisingly shot in colour and featuring some well known faces. The animal sequences are particularly impressive.

well, the dog in this movie was the only one with character, and the mountain lion decimated the depression-ridden, uneducated louts in the hills of Utah... That and the constant fighting between the men who are probably all related to each other by the same sister.
if only the people all died off and left the mountain lion in peace, then this might have been worth watching

I got this to download in full.
Not a bad movie but not what I'm into.
But I would say the AVI file looks like it may have been made from a bad VCD encoding.
Lots of parts are blockie, not good for making DVDs with.
A good watch but not a keeper.

I tried a number of times to download the AVI (marked DIVX)
I had tried again after reading someone downloaded it. I got 254 megabyte out of the over a gigabyte movie. I’ve cable and most movies download at somewhere between 500 and over 600 KB/sec. I tried the MPEG4, and it slowed to 120 KB/Sec at 4:13 AM West Coast time and got slower and slower after that.
I can't understand how it didn't work for me and worked for some one else. I download movies all the time. I've a copy of almost every decent movie in the archive and others from other sites.
The downloaded MPEG4 was 1 hr 17 min. The resolution is fairly poor. The story is somewhat good and it goes on with the MPEG4 until the end of the movie.
I'll raise the rating a bit since I got that copy.
I'd give it a three or maybe even a four if there was the AVI for the whole film and if it wasn't such trouble.
